The Foundations Program seeks a faculty colleague with a terminal degree in studio art, design, or art education to teach in a full-time lecturer position. The Foundations Lecturer will equip students with a foundational understanding and beginning command of the elements and principles of art and design, diverse media and creative processes, conceptual thinking, and written and verbal communication skills to articulate process, research, and references. They will lead one of the four interdisciplinary Foundations courses by mentoring a team of adjunct instructors and graduate teaching assistants in delivering dynamic and unified instruction across multiple course sections.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinating the delivery of online and in-person coursework across multiple course sections, and teaching weekly studio classes
- Working with the Foundations Director to facilitate and assess the success of student learning and the success of Adjunct Assistant instructor and graduate student teaching
- Collaborating with Foundations faculty and staff on program-related activities and serving on institutional committees as needed
