A Lecturer is a full-time employee who teaches 39 credits per year and provides student and learning support services over a twelve-month period, extending after graduation and continuing to the beginning of the school year. The Lecturer holds a strong commitment to teaching; maintains office hours; actively participates in the university community; provides Student Academic Support (SAS) including advisement, retention, recruitment and other as needed and directed academic student support activities; and does related work as required. This is a non-tenure track position that may be renewed on an annual basis. Teaching assignments and related responsibilities may include day, evening, weekend and online courses. Interest or experience in using advanced instructional technologies to improve the teaching/learning process is highly desirable. Courses may be taught at the Union campus, Kean Ocean, Kean Skylands or other locations. All Lecturers may be required to teach General Education courses. Positions are effective for the fall 2020 semester.

Theatre (Part-time Lecturer) – to teach and participate as a designer and/or mentor to student designers and technicians for the 4-show production season and advise 1-2 student-produced productions. Participation in developing curriculum, recruiting, committee work, planning and assessment, academic advising, student design or technology mentorship and portfolio development is required. The Lecturer will be working with undergraduate lab students on a daily basis in a hands-on production environment to implement stage designs. Master’s degree in Theatre Design and Technology or a related field and a minimum of one year of teaching experience at the post-secondary level is required. MFA and evidence of professional work is preferred. Candidate must be knowledgeable about current methodologies in design and production. Areas of expertise should include two or more of the following: lighting design and technology, sound design, video and projection design and stage or production management. Knowledge of health and safety practices is essential. Evening and weekend work is expected. This position is half-time (17.5 hours weekly/19.5 credits annually).
