GRINNELL COLLEGE – Department of Theatre and Dance – ONE-YEAR TERM APPOINTMENT IN PERFORMANCE STUDIES (START FALL 2021). 

The Department of Theatre and Dance invites applications for a one-year term appointment in Performance Studies beginning Fall 2021. Assistant Professor (Ph.D.) preferred; Instructor (ABD or foreign equivalent) or Associate Professor possible. Teaching responsibilities include a three-course series in Performance Studies and one course in the candidate’s area of expertise. The successful candidate will also direct one of the department’s main stage productions, reinforcing the department’s commitment to the connection between research and creative praxis. Areas of expertise might include but are not limited to Film, Digital Arts, Devised Theatre, Installation Art, Adaption and Staging of Literature, Body Art, and Gender and LGBTQIA+ Studies. Qualifications for the position include successful college-level teaching experience, directing experience, and a strong record of scholarly and creative research.

The new hire will be expected to share their research with the Grinnell community and to be a contributing member of the Theatre and Dance faculty.
