Our college is progressing.
We are a technological university focused on being an agile and entrepreneurial tech incubator that critically incorporates academia in the production of new industries, as well as industry leaders. Architecture is a core player in this journey and we are calling for exceptional humans to help shape the mission of the college.
We are looking for outstanding and potentially unconventional candidates for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Master of Architecture/Bachelor of Architectural Science programs. The appointee will join a strong, collaborative group of teaching and applied research faculty to continue to develop pedagogical innovations in architectural design and practice. The appointment will commence in August 2020.
Candidates must hold a terminal degree in Architecture from an accredited institution. Professional registration is desirable but not essential. Successful candidates will exhibit the ability to develop original creative work through a clear creative or research agenda. Candidates should show interest in cross-disciplinary opportunities to link architectural knowledge to parallel design disciplines of Interior Architecture, Urban Design, Industrial and Transportation Design, Game Art and Graphic Design.
Candidates should identify experience in secondary areas of knowledge such as industry-standard information or parametric modeling, working knowledge of production techniques (analog, CNC, robotic), design principles and applications, forward-thinking approach to research methods, or forward-thinking approaches to studio-based design pedagogy. Candidates should possess strong communication skills and a willingness to become actively involved in the functioning of the department including academic advisement, curriculum development, assessment and recruitment.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate: a combination of design studio and lecture/seminar-based teaching experience at the college level, and the ability to work with and promote a diverse student body.
