Job Summary
Teach applied Strings, String Methods, Chamber Ensemble, and Music Theory
Teach related method and music literature courses. All faculty are expected to participate fully in departmental and university affairs: this includes serving on committees, academic advising, and student recruitment.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Candidate should have a strong record of teaching and performance excellence in directing collegiate and secondary school string programs
Significant commitment to music performance and education.
Sequential Teaching methodology
Essential Job Functions
· Teach String method classes
· Teach music theory and /or sight singing and aural skills
· Conduct chamber ensemble and develop string orchestra
· Teach Applied Strings
· Serve on Committees

Qualifications
The applicant must have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Music with a strong background in applied strings. College teaching experience preferred. Experience with Orchestra is a plus.
Licensing and Certifications
Suzuki string methods Preferred
