UB Dance is known for our comparative Jazz Dance curriculum, an undergraduate program with equal emphasis on concert and commercial dance, and an MFA that focuses on the integration of practical and theoretical inquiry. Our dance curricula are broad and dynamic; we encourage applications from all areas of expertise and genres of movement practice.
In support of their area of specialization, our new colleague will contribute to the development and teaching of undergraduate and graduate Dance curricula and University general education courses. They will engage with our dynamic production season and be part of our expert faculty team, contributing to recruiting diverse students from across the country, closely mentoring student research, and actively engaging with ongoing anti-racist work, and development of culturally relevant pedagogy.
The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong record of achievement in their area of creative activity and scholarship, engages in student-centered teaching practices, invests in mentoring a diverse student population, and is committed to cultivating their capacity as a leader in the field.
