Haverford College invites candidates for a one year, full-time position in Visual Studies teaching media production and theory, for the period of July 1, 2019 – June 30, 2020. The successful candidate will have expertise in one or more of the following areas: documentary arts; community media; experimental media; socially engaged media practices; and/or expanded cinema forms (performance/web/interactive/social practice). The candidate is expected to teach practice and theory of documentary production and/or experimental media at introductory and advanced levels on a five-course/year schedule. They should have significant production experience, and be well-versed in media theory, history of documentary, and/or contemporary media arts. Adobe Premiere CC required. MFA and/or PhD preferred but not required; if the candidate does not have an advanced degree, then a robust professional and teaching track record is required.
