    Assistant Professor, Art Education. Full-time, tenure track appointment with a start date of August 2020. Competitive salary with full benefits. Minimum qualifications: PhD or EdD in Art Education (ABDs may apply, but the requirements for the Doctoral degree must be completed before the start date); both K-12 Visual Arts and college-level teaching experience; demonstrable record of achievement in scholarship (e.g., journal articles, conference presentations); and a recognized studio art practice (e.g., work displayed in exhibitions or juried shows). Preferred qualifications: Five years of experience teaching art in a K-12 public school setting; experience in student teacher supervision using the Educative Teacher Performance Assessment (edTPA); demonstrated experience teaching online courses; experience working with diverse populations or integrating higher education with Community Arts Education; MFA or equivalent degree or established practice in the studio arts; demonstrated experience incorporating technology, visual culture, contemporary studio practices, digital arts, or graphic design into Art Education curriculum; experience with administrative or other leadership roles; and, experience modeling the professional dispositions indicated in the National Art Education Association (NAEA) Statement on Preservice Education and its Relationship to Higher Education. Duties include: Teach graduate and undergraduate introductory, intermediate, and advanced courses in one or more of the following areas: Art & Visual Culture Education, Community Arts Education, Research Methods, Student Teaching. Maintain scholarship or creative work and professional involvement. Participate in art education curriculum development, advising art education majors, and educational and professional activities within the School, College and the University.
