Job Purpose

Rochester Institute of Technology Dubai invites applicants to apply for an Assistant/Associate Professor position to teach in the New Media Design program. We are seeking candidates who are well-rounded designers with an expertise in interaction design. Ideal candidates will possess the ability to integrate principles related to areas such as New Media Design, Visual Communication Design, Graphic Design, UX, Experience Design, etc. design. Candidates should be qualified to teach throughout the curriculum, including proficiency in applications such as Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma. Ideal candidates will also bring diverse perspectives and experiences that contribute to a broader understanding of design and how contemporary social and professional environments are shaping our practices and understanding of the field. Expectations include teaching studio and lecture courses; participating in innovative teaching and curriculum development; rendering service to the university, and community; career advising and mentoring students; and participating in professional organizations important to the field of design.
Faculty on sabbatical can also apply.

The selected candidate is expected to start on August 26, 2024 in Dubai.

Required Qualifications

• MFA degree in Graphic Design, New Media, Visual Communications, Animation or equivalent terminal degree.


• Demonstrated experience in any of the following areas of design: typography, graphic design, interactive design, user experience design, and 3D design.


• Teaching Experience.


• Professional Experience.


• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects), Figma.


• Experience with 3D modeling applications


• Ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the RIT Dubai’s continuing commitment to cultural diversity, pluralism, and individual differences.
