ASSISTANT PROFESSOR – COSTUME DESIGN
University of Arkansas Fayetteville
Nine Month Tenure Track Faculty
The Department of Theatre at the University of Arkansas invites applications for a Tenure Track Faculty Member in Costume Design & Technology. We seek applicants who are committed to an inclusive liberal arts pedagogy for Undergraduates as well seeking to lead and refine the MFA Costume Design program, and who are ready to join and actively participate in the further development and structure of an intimate department at a large school. Applicants must demonstrate an ability to interface with faculty, staff and students, to balance teaching and production needs of an active department which serves both Graduate and Undergraduate students, to express a commitment to Diversity and Inclusion as a teacher and an artist, and applicants are expected to be working designers who continue to develop their professional career while teaching for the University.
Completed applications received by October 15, 2019 will be assured full consideration. While the official start date is not until August of 2020, we intend to include the selected applicant in the recruiting and selection process so that they may help select their first MFA Costume Design cohort to begin in Fall of 2020.
