SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY – The Department of Drama, within the College of Visual and Performing Arts, a highly ranked BFA program uniquely integrated with a major regional theater, seeks to hire two tenure-track assistant professors of acting with specialty in movement techniques to begin August 2023. The department is actively seeking candidates who value equity and inclusion, who incorporate marginalized voices and perspectives into their pedagogy, and who have experience mentoring students and/or performers of diverse identities. We are looking for collaborative colleagues who will participate in the life of a vibrant department, including curriculum development and fostering innovative teaching practices. Selected candidates will teach movement courses at all levels within the performance curriculum, serve as academic and creative advisors, and, depending upon expertise, may coach and/or direct departmental productions.

The Department of Drama offers conservatory-style training at a major American university, combined with a level of integration with a professional theater company that is unparalleled among undergraduate programs.
