Help shape the future of Fashion Design: become a leader in design education

This role focuses on delivering high quality teaching, research, and service in the School of Design, across various areas related to fashion design research and practice.  The appointed candidate should have a broad understanding of the value of fashion design technology - in New Zealand as well as internationally. The candidate should be familiar with contemporary discourse in the field and able to foster critical and creative thinking. As well as experience teaching in higher education, the candidate should have a strong professional portfolio, or research in fashion design, with substantial expertise in one or more of the following areas:  

  • New technological developments in the field
  • Mātauranga Māori, in relation to fashion design
  • Fundamentals of Fashion Design construction and studio approaches
  • Conceptual/experimental approaches to the field

The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate an excellent creative practice, and/or an existing research programme, and will have identified strategies for further developing his or her research/creative practice within the School of Design’s strategic research areas. Please include a covering letter, CV, and portfolio with examples of practice or research and student work (web based portfolios are preferred).
