Job Summary/Basic Function: | The Department of Theatre and Dance at Wheaton College, in Norton, Massachusetts seeks applicants for a nine-month, full time, non-tenure track position as Artist-in-Residence in Technical Theatre, beginning in the Fall of 2022. Our new colleague will join four other full-time faculty teaching practice-based courses centered around performance and production. The position will offer the possibility of renewal, following successful annual evaluation, and will also offer access to funding for faculty research. The Artist in Residence will teach three courses (two sections of Stagecraft, one section of Introduction to Lighting Design) per year, and fill 3 course equivalencies. These equivalencies involve facilitating scenic construction for one faculty-directed play per year and lighting and sound for one faculty-directed dance concert per year. This Artist in Residence will construct scenery, hang and focus lighting, manage inventories, maintain facilities and equipment, and purchase specific materials needed for production. The candidate chosen will oversee the work of students in scenic construction, specialty property construction, lighting, sound, media and stage management. Applicants must submit the following: 1.
