Studio Art

The School of Design at South Dakota State University offers a BFA degree in studio Art.

 Students may choose from five different specializations:

This degree is comprised of in-depth studio experiences, art history courses and real-world experiences. Studio art majors study a variety of art-making methods and techniques that include traditional and contemporary approaches, as well as art history. Students earn B.F.A. degrees leading to careers as professional designers and artists. Our professional B.F.A. curriculum offers students internships, practice courses and travel study to art galleries, museums and design studios.
