Duties

We invite an accomplished scholar in a broad spectrum of fashion businesses. The appointee will be required to:

(a)    teach and lead in the programme planning, management and curriculum development at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels and supervise research students;

(b)    provide leadership in promoting research collaboration;

(c)    secure external competitive research grants, conduct academic research, consultancy and other scholarly activities leading to publications in high-impact journals and awards of research grants;

(d)    facilitate the School to gain and increase visibility and international/industrial connections;

(e)    lead academic and departmental committees; and

(f)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of School or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a)    a PhD degree in Fashion Business, Marketing, Psychology, Sociology, Economics, or disciplines related to Fashion Management;

(b)    solid experience in university teaching and/or excellent record in academic and research achievement in Supply Chain, Operation Management, Retail Operation, Digital Marketing, Consumer Behaviour, Innovation Management, Fashion Entrepreneurship, or related areas; 

(c)    high-impact research and publication record in high quality scholarly journals or strong potential to publish in top-tier refereed journals;

(d)    strong commitment to excellence in teaching, research and professional service; and

(e)    excellent communication skills and be able to use English as the medium of instruction.

Preference will be given to those with strong research orientation, with a proven record to publish in top scholarly journals and successfully secure grants and research funding.

Applicants for appointment at Professor level should have substantial years of relevant post-qualification experience and an excellent record of relevant academic and/or research achievement.  Applicants with less experience will be considered for appointment as Associate Professor.
