Expertise: Professor Hall is a drummer, composer, and ethnomusicologist. In addition to his creative work in jazz and Black American Musics, his scholarship is principally concerned with issues of identity, ethnicity, and temporality; popular musics of the world; music as protest and resistance; and musics of the African Diaspora.
