The Anton Bruckner Private University is a public corporation and is funded by the State of Upper Austria. It was accredited as a private university in 2004. We offer our approximately 850 students artistic, artistic-pedagogical and artistic-scientific degree programmes in the fields of music, drama and dance. Senior Lecturer for Piano (f/m/d)

  • Scope of employment: 20 hours per week, including 11 hours of teaching per week (50% of full employment)
  • Duration of employment: initially limited to three years; in case of positive evaluation permanent employment
  • Classification: Salary group C+ (LD 9 of the Upper Austrian Salary Act 2001)
  • Remuneration: gross monthly salary from EUR 2,418.55 (depending on creditable previous service)
  • End of application period: January 29th, 2025
  • Selection procedure:
    • Preselection by appointment committee;
    • Hearing incl. teaching sample expected on March 17th and 18th, 2025
  • Planned start of employment: October 1st, 2025
  • Organizational unit: Institute for Keyboard Instruments (TAS)

Requirements

1. Employment requirements:

  • Outstanding artistic and artistic-pedagogical qualifications on the piano
  • Artistic expertise in the fields of jazz and/or popular music
  • Inter(national) teaching and concert activities
  • Extensive teaching experience
  • A domestic or equivalent foreign higher education qualification or equivalent artistic or artistic-scientific aptitude appropriate to the role
  • Broad artistic spectrum
  • Regular attendance at the Anton Bruckner Private University and participation in academic self-administration are part of the duty.

  • Willingness to cooperate and ability to work in a team

Role & Responsibilities

  • Leading a piano class within the framework of artistic and artistic-pedagogical education in the bachelor and master studies, including styles from the fields of jazz or pop etc.
    This includes the central artistic subject as well as supervision of the relevant supplementary subjects such as didactics and teaching practice, ensemble work and practical piano areas
  • Promotion of young talent
  • In addition to teaching courses, the activities of teaching staff include the necessary preparation and follow-up activities, event and examination activities, research and administrative activities associated with teaching, participation in committees and the supervision and assessment of final theses.
