The Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture + Design is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic colleague for a full time, non-tenure track Lecturer/Senior Lecturer of Metalsmithing & Jewelry Design to begin August 1, 2025. Eskenazi School (eskenazi.indiana.edu) is dedicated to a faculty composed of diverse scholars and practitioners.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the values we try to cultivate in our students: to be curious, collaborative, and adaptable in a global art world. Applicants are sought whose portfolios and research spans studio art and design, and whose teaching will address the broad ranging implications of this intersection in contemporary art. Area of expertise required is metalsmithing and jewelry design with established skill sets in; various fabrication methods utilizing soldering and cold connections, raising, forging, casting, enameling, variety of jewelry settings, mechanisms, electroforming, die forming, and use of alternative materials. Other skills desirable include but are not limited to; experience working cross-disciplinary, knowledge of woodshop and large metal shop tools and equipment, computer-aided design, computer-aided manufacturing, rapid prototyping and various computer-aided machining.

The Metalsmithing + Jewelry Design area hosts a BA, BFA and widely recognized MFA program. Responsibilities beyond teaching include but are not limited to: participate in group and individual critiques, assist in maintaining the studio environment, provide service as needed by the area and school, and maintain and pursue professional and academic expertise. Studio space provided when available. We seek candidates who can provide collegial initiative in a team-based environment. A strong candidate will have demonstrated an ability to work successfully with students, faculty, administration and the community.

All qualified candidates must have an MFA or equivalent terminal degree.
 
At least 3 years teaching experience
