The University of Idaho's Theatre Arts Department invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Theatre in Acting and Directing to begin academic year 2018/2019. We seek applicants who value collegiality and possess a strong commitment to teaching, mentoring, and the collaborative process of theatre making. Job Duties include teaching a progression of studio acting classes that concentrate on text work and scene study (including Shakespeare) and directing one production each year. The directing assignment is considered part of the 3/3 teaching load. Willingness to engage with graduate students via our unique distance-delivery format is a plus. University of Idaho and the Department of Theatre Arts are committed to enhancing the diversity of the campus and the curriculum.

Minimum Qualifications: MFA in Theatre, experience teaching at the university level, demonstrated knowledge of Acting and Directing, and evidence of professional creative activity. Preferred Qualifications: experience teaching Shakespearean acting, experience teaching Voice and Movement, and a record of inclusive pedagogy and of engaging students from diverse backgrounds.
