University professor for jazz piano (m/w/d)

20 hours per week, including 11 hours per week of teaching (50% of full-time employment)

Your duties

• Leading a jazz piano class as part of artistic and artistic-pedagogical training in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs and, if applicable, supervision of relevant supplementary subjects, in particular subject didactics and teaching practice or ensemble and improvisation.
• In addition to teaching courses, the activities of lecturers include the necessary preparation and follow-up activities, event and examination activities, research and administrative activities associated with teaching, participation in committees and the supervision and assessment of final theses.
• Regular attendance at the ABU for participation in academic self-administration

Your profile

Conditions of employment:

• Outstanding artistic and artistic-pedagogical qualifications on the piano, independent artistic profile, as well as international concert activities and extensive teaching experience
• A domestic or equivalent foreign higher education qualification or an equivalent artistic or artistic-scientific aptitude appropriate to the position
• Special aptitude for academic work, which is usually demonstrated by the quality of a doctorate, and/or special aptitude for artistic or, if applicable, subject-relevant professional activity
• for applicants who do not hold a relevant professorship at a recognized domestic or foreign university, additional special artistic achievements or special achievements in the application/development of scientific knowledge and methods in at least 5 years of professional practice or the presentation of a habilitation. Based on part-time employment of 11 hours per week teaching, the monthly minimum salary is € 2731.00 gross. The classification is according to the Upper Austrian Salary Act 2001 in LD 8. The actual salary is based on creditable previous service.
