All open faculty positions are ten-month, full-time, tenure-track assignments at the rank of Assistant Professor, effective for the fall 2020 semester, unless otherwise indicated. Teaching assignments and related responsibilities may include day, evening, weekend and online courses.
Courses may be taught at the Union campus, Kean Ocean, Kean Skylands or other locations.

All tenure-track faculty are expected to demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence and an on-going program of research and publication or creative and performance activity. Participation in curriculum development, student advisement and service at the departmental/school, college, university and community level is also required. Interest or experience in using advanced instructional technologies to improve the teaching/learning process is highly desirable. All positions are subject to availability of funds, due to financial exigencies.

Michael Graves College

School of Public Architecture
Architecture – to teach graduate studio and lecture courses within the professional architecture design program. Areas of specialty include building design, urban design, building technology, building systems and professional practice. Candidate will teach at the Union campus and non-teaching hours will be devoted to advising and providing other support services to students. The ideal candidate will contribute intellectually to the formation of this new professional program by developing curriculum; developing a research and/or creative scholarship program that includes refereed publications, scholarly presentations and grants appropriate to an assistant professor academic level; seeking external funding; participating in innovative teaching and curriculum development; and actively engaging in professional organizations.

Qualifications: Terminal degree in Architecture or a related field is required or the equivalent achieved through substantial professional practice. It is recommended that candidates have a minimum of two years of previous teaching experience at the college level or three years of professional business practice. A proven record of academic scholarship and/or professional practice is preferred. Documentation of professional capabilities such as registration, NCARB certification, AIA membership, LEED AP credentials are also preferred. Ability to work with both hand and digital representational skills is highly desirable.
