The Studio Manager supports students and faculty by managing and maintaining the printmaking, paper-making, screenprinting, and graphic arts studios, including facilities, affiliated classrooms, analog and digital equipment, processes, documentation and training, and inventory of materials and supplies. The Studio Manager is responsible for the day-to-day smooth and safe operation of all classrooms, darkrooms and studios with their attendant equipment and supplies, to support the academic and creative goals of faculty and student users. This includes providing technical support services to faculty and students, including conducting technical training and workshops.
The position requires the collegiality and interpersonal skills needed to work with faculty and students as part of a team in an open, atelier-style print and paper-making studio.
Applicants should have advanced level experience in most, if not all, traditional print media – relief, intaglio, screen and lithography as well as related photo/digital applications. In addition, applicants should have a working knowledge of paper-making – e.g. sheet forming, pulp preparation, care and maintenance of equipment.
Building and construction skills are an asset.
