Job Description
We are seeking to fill a non-tenure track Technical Director position, beginning in January 2022 (possible negotiation for later start date), at the rank of Lecturer, for ISU's Theatre and Dance Department.
In addition to Technical Director responsibilities, as a core member of the program's Artistic and Production Team, this faculty member will teach 2 undergraduate classes a semester, including Stagecraft, Stage Management, and other courses dependent on faculty interest and specialty and department need. Other responsibilities would include mentoring students, collaborating with faculty, supervising the scene shop and departmental productions, with additional design/technical opportunities based on area of interest.
Minimum Qualifications
- BA or BFA with emphasis in Technical Theatre
- Master carpentry skills
- Master rigging skills
- Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD or Vectorworks, drafting and/or other design software
- Basic welding skills
Preferred Qualifications
- MFA in Technical Theatre
- Knowledge of projection and/or sound design equipment and installation/setup
- At least three (3) years of teaching and/or professional experience
Additional Information

Salary will be between $52,000 and $64,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
