The Reed College Theatre Department invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor appointment in Theatre with an emphasis in Acting and Directing. This appointment is for three semesters starting in January 2026 and continuing through the 2026-27 academic year. Teaching responsibilities will include seven courses total (two in the spring semester and five in the following year) including Acting, Directing, Theatre Laboratory (which includes directing a mainstage production), and a class in the candidate's area of expertise. The successful candidate will also be expected to advise senior theses and contribute to department service. We are especially interested in artist/practitioners who are able to teach broadly within the discipline, who are committed to teaching undergraduates in a liberal arts environment, and who maintain an active professional and/or artistic practice. An MFA is required, as is evidence of successful college-level teaching and professional experience.
