The American University of Sharjah Performing Arts Program, housed within the College of Arts and Sciences, invites applications for a full-time appointment in costume design to begin in Fall 2020. This faculty member will join a small but growing program, which includes theatre and music, and has an active production schedule. Responsibilities: build costumes for two to three theatre productions per academic year; teach 3-3 load in theatre appreciation, costume design and makeup courses; maintain the costume shop; and serve on university committees as assigned. We are especially interested in candidates who are dedicated to teaching undergraduates in a liberal arts environment, committed to working with ethnically and culturally diverse faculty and students from across the globe, and who will thrive in a small, ambitious university setting. The university provides on-campus faculty housing. A terminal degree in theatre is required (MFA preferred). Professional design experience is a plus. The application deadline is January 19, 2020.
