The Conservatory of Music at Brooklyn College of the City University of New York (CUNY) invites applications for a full-time, one-term (renewable) substitute position in Music Teacher Education (MTE) with a secondary specialty in African American, Jazz, or World musics. Appointment, based on credentials, will be as Sub Lecturer, Sub Lecturer - Doctoral Schedule, or Sub Assistant Professor.
The responsibilities of the MTE faculty would be to direct our graduate and undergraduate Music Education programs, teaching core Music Education courses and courses in his/her/their field of secondary specialization, serving as academic advisor for Music Education students, and taking a primary role in revising our Music Education curriculum.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Music Teacher Education with some experience in African American, Jazz, Latinx, popular music, music technology, and/or World Musics. If appropriate, some of the candidate’s teaching would be cross listed with Africana Studies and/or Puerto Rico and Latino Studies (PRLS).
Experience teaching in K-12 New York City public schools, or another urban public school system, is preferred.

Compensation:
Salary Range for Lecturer: $64,426 - $72,280
Salary Range for Lecturer-Doctoral Schedule: $64,491 - $79,808
Salary Range for Assistant Professor: $72,667 - $82,928
